Casey Stansbury

Casey Stansbury grew up in South Louisiana, where he witnessed the hard work and dedication of his parents, who were a teacher and a community organizer and lobbyist. Inspired by their commitment to helping others, Casey tried to be like them by developing strong negotiation and communication skills through his work in politics.

After graduating from high school in Baton Rouge, Casey attended Louisiana State University. While he is a loyal supporter of LSU, he cheers for UK when they are not playing LSU. Casey pursued his law degree at Ohio Northern University, which is known for its prestigious trial program.

Following graduation, Casey gained valuable experience working for former Circuit Judge, Darren Peckler in Boyle and Mercer Courts, as well as Judge Hunter Daugherty in Garrard and Jessamine Circuit Courts. 

With a desire to expand his legal expertise, Casey joined a well established insurance defense firm in Lexington. There, he handled a wide range of cases, from car wrecks to significant corporate matters, establishing himself as a formidable presence in the defense bar.

A regional firm recognized Casey’s talent and invited him to join their firm to establish an office in Lexington. Continuing his representation of insurance companies, their insureds, and corporations, Casey consistently achieved favorable outcomes for his clients. His success caught the attention of a growing national defense firm. Impressed by his track record, large insurance carriers and corporations sought Casey’s expertise to review other attorneys’ work, provide recommendations and to teach the carriers’ and corporations staff.

In addition, Casey was selected to be part of his national firm’s emergency trial team. As a member of this team, Casey would step in at the last minute to handle trials that required his exceptional expertise. 

Before leaving that firm, Casey was regarded for the go-to attorney for insurance carriers and corporations, thanks to his exceptional skills and reputation. Casey was also appointed as a Special Assistant State Attorney General by several states. 

Casey has been recognized as an AV Preeminent attorney, by Martindale Hubbell, a Super Lawyer, and also by Best’s Attorney for his work with the defense bar. Casey also served as the President of the Kentucky Defense Bar and nationally, Casey won awards for his leadership through the national defense bar. He also was selected for membership in the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel. The FDCC is the top 1% of defense and corporate counsel. 

However, this October while with his kids in Louisiana, Casey decided he needed to make a change. Despite his successes, Casey wanted to make a change to help those seeking compensation for injuries. Casey is excited to join the HF team.

With over twenty-two years of experience, Casey has gained extensive understanding of the playbook, the key players and how carriers and corporations make decisions. He is licensed to practice in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and Tennessee and is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts within those states. Additionally, Casey is licensed to practice in the Sixth and Seventh Federal Courts of Appeal. Notably, he is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional, adding to his experience.

Casey is ready to assist with your various legal matters, including negligence, wrongful death, construction, product liability, data privacy, employment, healthcare and civil rights. He will continue to provide services to his corporate clients as well. Having fought cases in courts across Kentucky throughout his career, Casey is well-prepared to advocate on your behalf.

In his free time, Casey enjoys traveling with his wife and two children. Casey is a member of two Mardi Gras parades, Endiymon and Orpheaus and rides in Mardi Gras each year. Casey also loves giving back to his community by volunteering his time with various community groups.
