Failure to stay in one’s lane may lead to motor vehicle accidents

A dad and his son have sadly lost their lives in a motor vehicle collision in Kentucky. The tragic accident happened on Kentucky Highway 290. Sometimes, these kinds of motor vehicle accidents are the result of a motorist’s carelessness, which is grounds for litigation.

The recent accident took place at a little past 7 p.m. on a Friday. According to police, a man, 19, was driving along the highway in a truck with a trailer. However, he reportedly crossed the road’s middle line. At that point, the 19-year-old man allegedly crashed into the motor vehicle of another man, 35.

The older man was pronounced deceased at the collision scene. In addition, two children suffered serious injuries and were thus airlifted to a hospital. One of these children, the 13-year-old son of the older man, died at the medical center.

The surviving loved ones of the deceased dad and son may choose to file wrongful death claims against the truck driver who reportedly crashed into their vehicle. In addition, the truck driver may face a personal injury claim filed on the behalf of the child who was injured in the Kentucky collision and survived it. A claim that is fought victoriously, based upon a showing of negligence, may result in a judicial award of monetary damages that might help with covering medical bills as well as funeral expenses. No amount of money can undo the events leading to fatal motor vehicle accidents, but monetary damages may help the surviving family members to more easily move on from such accidents.
