Motor vehicle accidents may happen as a result of speeding

Two people recently lost their lives in a tragic car crash in Kentucky. The accident took place on a Sunday morning. Sometimes, these kinds of motor vehicle accidents occur due to a driver’s carelessness, such as speeding, which is grounds for litigation in the Bluegrass State.

The recent motor vehicle crash took place at a little past 4 a.m. According to authorities, a man was driving a car west along Eastern Parkway. In addition, a woman was riding in the car with him.

Police said the motor vehicle was speeding along the highway. All of a sudden, the car left the roadway and ended up hitting a tree. Both the man and the woman died at the crash scene.

The loved ones of the female passenger may opt to file a wrongful death claim in this situation, seeking financial damages. Even though the man who reportedly caused the accident died in the crash, his estate may be sued. Likewise, any person who has an ownership interest in the car he was operating when the crash happened may be named in the lawsuit.

If liability is established in the car accident, based upon a showing of negligence, claims for monetary damages will be adjudicated. In a successfully litigated claim, a damage award may help the loved ones of the deceased female passenger to pay for her burial costs and other expenses associated with these types of motor vehicle accidents. For example, a monetary award might help with covering the loss of support for any surviving dependents. No amount of money can undo the events leading to a fatal car collision in Kentucky, but it may help the plaintiffs to more easily move on from the ordeal.
