"I am not afraid of storms for I am learning how to sail my ship." -Louisa May Alcott
Andrea was born in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, which is a colonial-era city in the far eastern part of central Mexico, known for its baroque Spanish architecture, thriving arts scene, and cultural festivals. She is the daughter of hardworking parents who migrated to the United States almost 20 years ago. Andrea’s late father worked as a pilot, fruit farmer, and he raised horses for many years. Her mom has worked as a nanny, house cleaner, cook, and factory worker. Andrea has two younger siblings who were born in New Jersey and Kentucky.
In 2005, Andrea and her family moved to Lexington, Kentucky when her parents had the opportunity to manage a horse farm for a prominent family from Australia. Andrea graduated from Bryan Station High School in 2015. That same year, she became a proud American citizen. Since getting her high school diploma, she has taken several classes at Bluegrass Community and Technical College and the University of Kentucky, and expects to obtain her Associate’s Degree in December 2018. Prior to joining Hicks & Funfsinn, Andrea worked as a Loan Specialist and Account Representative for a local furniture store and before that worked in the food service industry. Andrea is fluent in English and Spanish and now enjoys helping both English and Spanish-speaking clients with their personal injury and immigration issues.
Andrea’s husband, Edwin, works for Toyota in Georgetown and attended Dunbar High School in Lexington, where he played soccer. They have a Yorkie puppy named Tank. In her free time, Andrea enjoys fly-fishing, cooking, painting, listening to music, and visiting craft breweries and local wineries.
